“No, Dev.” He said with a chuckle. She tightened her muscles around his shaft shutting him up. He began to drill into her with purpose. He rolled his hips hitting all her sweet spots and working her closer to her orgasm. He knew their time was running out so he sped up even more moving in and out like a blur as she hung on for dear life.

“Dev!” She screamed over and over as she convulsed around his cock squeezing so hard he couldn’t hold back any longer.

“Stef!” He yelled his pleasure exultantly. Nothing ever felt as good as filling his girl full of his hot white seed. He jerked into her even after the last drop was milked dry. The moment was full of tenderness as he just held her while his heart and breathing adjusted back to normal.

It was time to get on with things now. They both rinsed off, dried and dressed. They would have a busy day so they went looking for breakfast.

An unhappy Lu surrounded by a gaggle of giggling women looked up at them with misery and a touch of anger on his face. Dev raised his brow and tried to hide his feelings of superiority. Lucifer might have had an orgy last night, but Dev would bet his last dollar he hadn’t had nearly the enjoyable night that Dev had with Stef. Dev figured Lu had to be the biggest fool he’d ever met.

He noticed Stef tried not to look in his direction and he didn’t blame her. She liked the jerk but he was still making it clear he had no interest in her, but Dev looked deeper than the surface. The god clearly wanted Stef but for some reason he wouldn’t pursue her. That suited Dev just fine. He wanted Stef happy but he wasn’t sure Lu would be the one to give her that.

They got their trays, filled them and sat down with Dori who sat with the god, Homer. It occurred to Dev that not all the gods had godlike names. Lu was named for the devil and Homer for a hero. He couldn’t recall the other gods he’d met but he remembered their names hadn’t sounded like gods either. He took a bite of his breakfast omelet surprised to find it was good. Dev’s day was starting out as good as it could. He’d slept well, had a lot of intense sex and now he was getting well fed. What guy could ask for more?

Dev knew that Stef was waiting for Gloria to arrive so everything would get started. He and his crew would be shooting this morning once Lu and the band started practicing. He probably wouldn’t use the shots unless Stef wanted to do a practice DVD, he’d learned to expect the unexpected from her a long time ago. The main purpose behind shooting this morning was to get to know Lu and the band. It would make things easier later and they would know what the best angles and sides to shoot each band member were and any quirks the guys had.

Stef took off after breakfast citing the need to make some calls and check her emails. Dev knew she was avoiding Lu and he would help her if he could. He couldn’t avoid him so he went full steam ahead. His guy Gordon, a camera man, was brought to him by a god Dev didn’t know.

“They’re kinda weird around here.” Gordon said.

“Only to men like you or me Lens.” Dev said using Gordon’s nickname. He’d left the protective lens on his camera once during a shoot. He’d never lived it down and they still called him that to this day. They’d had to reshoot the whole scene. He’d never made a mistake like that again.

One of his girls Nita, was brought in next and the god escorting her was flirting heavily. “I see what you mean.” Lens said referring to the friendlier reception Nita had gotten.

“Where’s Dee?” He asked Nita, since the two ladies usually traveled together.

“She missed the flight and won’t make it in until tomorrow. She wanted you to know she was sorry.” Nita explained.

“Was it that piece of shit, Wally?” He asked referring to Dee’s loser boyfriend.

Sure the guy was attractive and muscular, but he didn’t work and caused her trouble on her jobs. Dev was sure it was because the bum knew she was too good for him and thought if she was out of his sight another guy would steal her away. Dev looked around at all the tall muscular men sitting around. That might just happen here and he hoped for Dee’s sake that it did. She deserved better than a man like the one she had. He could only hope things worked out the best for her because in his experience, people resented friends who tried to give advice or interfere even when it was obvious to everyone it was needed. He would step back and let her work things out as best she could.

He escorted Nita and Lens to the room the equipment was stored in so they could both get what they needed. Once they were all equipped, they headed to the music room where the band was already playing.

Nita and Lens looked bemused as they listened to the band play. He let them just stand there and listen, giving them time to adjust to the band’s music. It made him think of a magical enchantment being wrought as Lucifer sung. He might not think much of his character because of the thing with Stef, but the bastard could sing. The whole band had talent in spades and they would need it in the competitive world of music.

His camera crew finally snapped out of their trance and got to work. They were professional and once they got going, they knew exactly what to do. The band took regular breaks which was good for all of them. The breaks gave them a chance to get to know the band and Dev filmed some of the discussions that he thought were interesting.

All the band seemed to flirt shamelessly with Nita, except for Lu who seemed to be sulking and wasn’t participating in the fun. She was a pretty girl with short black hair and pixie like features. Her eyes were huge and the blue sometimes seemed more like purple. Her skin was like white porcelain which made her lips look red like rubies. She was short but curvy, with big hips and breasts.

Lens also kicked back and taped some of the teasing and joking around during breaks without being obvious. The band knew how to have fun and Lu took good care of them all having drinks and snacks brought in regularly. The last song Lu sang was so melancholy it would probably make all the girls cry. He’d noticed Nita rubbing her eyes but he’d wisely said nothing. She could get grouchy if annoyed and it would upset her if she thought he’d caught her crying. Some woman were embarrassed that they felt things so deeply, but it just showed that they were caring.

He looked at his watch and saw the day was almost spent. Stef had avoided this room all day long and he was sure Gloria would have made it here by now. He’d expected her to bring Gloria and Kiki here to meet the band but she hadn’t. Gloria would be working with them tomorrow. Stef usually didn’t leave things to the last minute. Lu had really thrown her off her game.

  Chapter 4

  Misery

Lu felt like crap. He’d messed up and he knew it but he was helpless to straighten things out or maybe just too proud. He’d sent the female he wanted, hurtling into the arms of another. Granted, he hadn’t known an ex-lover was already on his way here when he’d made the decision to put her on ice until the project was successful. He’d planned to partake of the local girls wanting to be extras in the videos just to see if he still thought of her when he was through with them.

He’d told the girls the wings and tails were special effect props and they had believed it. Stef was right about people believing anything if it was presented properly. She’d be mad at him though because he was supposed to wait for the video, the one which showed Homer getting his wings and tail, to come out before he shared the story with anyone. His bad, he supposed and he suspected it wouldn’t endear him to Stef, not that she was happy with him as things stood.

He’d lain in his bed covered by island girls dreaming of Stef. That had been a first in two ways. One was that when he dreamed about females, they were always vague and shadowy, never clear and detailed. They were never someone he’d met, but always someone he hoped to meet. The other thing was he never dreamed about sex when he’d just had it. Three local girls hadn’t been able to take his mind off his female. Yes, he was ready to admit she was his now that he had lost his chance to have her. No, he refused to accept he’d lost her. He’d just made it more challenging, that was all.

He would reason things out and find the surest
way to win back her regard. It was a shame that she was Sierra’s sister because Sierra was the one he’d normally asked for help. Her advice was usually sound and being a woman, she would know what another woman wanted. Being her sister, she would know Stef better than most. His problem with Stef’s sisters was they would want to kill him if they knew what he had done. They had warned him to leave her alone, something he just couldn’t do.

Just the thought of her brought her to his mind in living color. The girls who had ravished him last night were pale in comparison. He loved females, all females but Stef was more than just a female to him. She was the female. He had tried to fight it but now he understood that there was no way to win.

He couldn’t help but think about last night. He tried not to think about what Stef had been doing so he thought instead about what he’d been up to. He knew he was a man whore by most definitions but sex was a beautiful thing when done right. The islanders here were uninhibited and three females to a male didn’t bother them at all. It didn’t bother him either since he could easily satisfy three if not more. Arrogant? Hardly, he was just aware of his abilities and could make the best possible use of his appendages.

He remembered the blonde riding his face as the redhead rode his cock. His hand and his adorable tail took care of the black haired female who probably had the best orgasm of her life that way. He’d stung them all since the venom added to their pleasure although for those unused to it, it tended to dim details in their memory. That was an added bonus that wouldn’t effect a mate or long term lover after the first few times. The venom was addictive and a mate would crave it. Another good point in his opinion since once they had a little tail, they just came back for more.

In this case that might not be good since he’d have to find a way to get rid of the females from last night. His guards had told him they kept trying to get back into the facility to see him. Maybe one of the other demons would keep them busy. He needed them out of the way while he pursued his mate. It wasn’t like she hadn’t had a busy night of her own. A scowl formed on his face which was an unusual look for him. He usually smiled even through his pain. He’d learned early on that letting Origin’s evil scientists see what caused him pain just meant they’d do more of it.

He closed his eyes recalling last night’s activities as if they were going on now. It was the only way to mute his jealousy since he’d smelled Stef’s scent all over Devon. That male had been happy, sated and very relaxed all morning during a shoot even though one of his camera men hadn’t shown up. It made Lu hate him and seethe with jealousy he fought hard to hide. He tried to recall his sexfest with the three females but it kept slipping away. All three were beautiful in their own way but they weren’t the one he wanted.

The blonde had tasted like vanilla. He liked vanilla but he bet Stef tasted like cherries which were his favorite. Damn that female for slipping into his mind no matter what he tried to think about. He had used his skills to wring orgasm after orgasm out of the blonde who’d admitted she usually only got off once during sex. He had a mad skill, he could make his tongue vibrate like a motor. He didn’t think most males could do that. It was a demon thing, one of several tricks that made females go crazy.

The redhead had loved his cock telling him it was the largest one she’d ever rode. He’d heard that a time or two. The venom that relaxed them helped them accept his beast into their bodies without pain or damage. That was something only tailed demons had and if females only knew, they would be hunted for their bedroom skills by females everywhere.

The black haired girl probably had the wildest ride. His tail worked almost like a balloon filling her as full as she could stand. He could make the tip vibrate to compete with the highest priced toys and it was directional. Once he found that sweet spot, he could hit it whenever he wanted to. He was one talented demon with his bag of tricks. His tail worked both ways since it was also a sensitive erogenous zone. Rub it the right way and it would reward the effort with a hot load of the shiny white stuff. Surprise!

He called the band back from their break. It was time for one last round of songs before they called it a day. That fuck buddy of Stef’s was aggressive when it came to filming and he did everything short of hang upside down to get some of the weirdest angles. Lu decided to take a wait and see approach besides he wouldn’t want to be accused of griping about the way the guy got up close and personal, because he was jealous.

Someone must have opened a door because Lu felt a cool ocean breeze blowing on his sweat slicked body. He looked up and was disgusted when he saw someone had let last night’s trio into the room. Some guard was going to get his balls handed to him over this. They sat in the corner giggling and making eyes at him. He tried to ignore them, easier said than done.

Some of the band members were giving the girls the eye, but those females had their sights set on him. It just made him madder because it was all his fault. He should have known better than to encourage local girls under these kinds of circumstances.

He felt another breeze. What the hell was going on around here? Was it a free for all? Were they letting the whole island in to watch? He looked up glaring only to realize it was Stef with a pretty blonde Amazon. The female was easily six feet tall and had the palest blue eyes he’d ever seen. She would have interested him once upon a time, but things were different now. His guess was that the blonde was Gloria. He looked over at Stef who was glaring back at him. Either she was pissed because he’d glare at her or she’d caught him examining her friend. It didn’t look like he could do anything right where his woman was concerned.

She waited until they were done for the day before she made her way over to him and the band. His fellow demons looked at the two approaching females like lions hungry for a snack. He knew it made no sense but he was pissed at the way they examined her. They didn’t know Stef was his. They thought her Devon’s female or even a free agent. That was his fault too but it was something he could change.

“Hello beautiful.” He said to Stef. “I’ve missed you today.”

Her mouth dropped open and Gloria watched with interest.

Stef seemed to recover. “This is Lucifer, Gloria. Lu, this is the lady that will make you guys fabulous, Gloria.”

“Don’t you think I’m already fabulous?” He asked with a wink and a grin.

“Not in the same dramatic way Gloria will make you.”

He pouted pushing his lip out dramatically. “I think I’ve been insulted. Gloria, now that you’re here, you’ll help me keep her in line. Won’t you?”

Gloria laughed. “That’s a tall order. Stef does her own thing and she likes to be in charge.” She advised conspiratorially.

Lu wasn’t surprised by that information. Stef was successful and people who were achievers took charge.

“You can help me plot against her.” He whispered loud enough that he was sure Stef could hear. He liked Gloria. She seemed like a fun person and he’d had enough sour, dour and sadistic people around him when he was young to last a lifetime. He fully intended to live life for all it was worth and surround himself with likeminded people.

He knew Stef was like that most of the time from the stories her sisters had told him. The only reason she was so serious right now was that his choices had made her question her feelings and he hoped he could get her to reevaluate them just one more time. Before she was done with this project, he’d have her in his life and his bed. Lu knew how to get things done and he liked to get his way. Since he’d been freed, he’d not failed to reach his goals once and he refused to fail now.

He watched as Devon approached from behind Stef and put his arms around her waist pulling her back against him. They had the demeanor of old friends, ones that slept together sometimes. He would have to work out a plan to divide and conquer. He needed help but there was no one he could call on.

“Why don’t we all have supper together tonight? Now that most of your team is here it will give them and the band a chance to get acquainted. W
hat do you say, Stef?” Lu asked.

She hesitated and he knew she wanted to say no but didn’t want to look churlish. “Sure, sounds good. I’d better go get ready. Casual, right?”

“No, I wanted to give your people a chance to dress up. It’ll be fun.” He coaxed.

If she had to hunt down a dress and fix up, maybe she wouldn’t have time for Devon.

“I’m not sure everyone brought something dressy.” She protested.

“No problem. We have a helicopter on standby and anyone who wants can go to the nearest store.” He assured her.

Gloria jumped in making him like her even more. “Stef, I need to go but you just have to come with me.” She begged.

“Well, alright. Dev how about your team?” Stef asked.

“I’ll check with them.” He agreed, shooting a thoughtful look at Lu who returned an innocent look back.

In the end all the females on Stef’s team including Stef went for a ride to the nearest boutique on the island next to them. While they were gone, Lu had flowers put in Stef’s room. He remembered Zeus and the other gods using them for gifts and apologies to their mates. While they didn’t always work completely, gods after all could really piss women off, they always seemed to help smooth the way.

He went to his office to catch up on the bane of every leader’s existence, paperwork. Not that most of it was paper, it was mostly on his computer. He had a bad habit of drifting off mentally while giving the paperwork only half his attention. He always worried about what mistakes he might make but so far so good.

His mind went back to one of his earliest memories. He’d read that human children, the lucky ones anyway, often had early memories of being read to or sung to by loved ones such as parents. His memory wasn’t as benign. He was lying on the floor because he didn’t have a bed. He did have a blanket but even though it smelled like something dead, it gave him comfort. His stomach rumbled, although why it bothered since he was never fed enough to quiet it, he didn’t know. He looked by the door hoping to find the food that was left there. It was a little every day that someone snuck to him and better than what the old hag brought him. He’d found out later the other gods, those who weren’t demons, left food for those who were demons.
