  Once they got on the shuttle it wasn’t long before they were pulling up at the hotel. Its location was one of the reasons they used it. They arrived, unloaded, checked in, and went to their rooms, but Plutus hoped not to be staying with Dione who would probably pick up a female in the bar downstairs anyway. He carried Ritzy’s bag and his own as he walked with her to the elevator. The god felt like she wanted this as much as he did so he closed the distance and pulled her into his embrace but he moved slowly enough that she had time to pull back or say no if this was not what she wanted.   The plane, an old passenger plane from one of the airlines that used red, white, and blue logos, sat waiting for them. There would be no privacy until they landed at Olympus. The two of them sat in seats next to each other for the flight. She ended up falling asleep and he was sure it was because he’d worn her out. He smiled to himself thinking sleeping most of the way there would make it an easier flight for her. Plutus would worry about their relationship all the way home. At some point, that proved to be untrue, but when he’d fallen asleep, he couldn’t say. Maybe he’d tired himself out too. She had been quite aggressive once she’d warmed up. The young god smiled as he looked at her, seeing she was now awake. Ritzy smiled back at him, a lazy warm smile. It made him hope things would be okay. Once they got to Olympus, he would have help explaining things to her.

  Chapter 4

  Olympus

  Ritzy knew they had arrived by the way the plane was circling. A page in the book that was her life had been turned and everything was different. She was excited to see Mitzy and Paige, but she wondered what would happen between her and Plutus.

  Walking into the facility felt odd especially with snow all around the entrance. Mitzy and Paige stood there waiting and she ran to them hugging each one in turn. A guy that looked like Plutus, but wasn’t stood with them his blue eyes taking in eve
rything. This had to be Tycho.

  Plutus had been right about them looking identical, but even with the different eye color, they felt different to her. Ritzy would recognize Plutus if she was blindfolded and he didn’t speak. His scent was slightly spicier than Tycho’s too.

  They were led to a suite with two bedrooms and she shot him a look. “A bedroom for each of us if that’s what you want.”

  If only she knew what she wanted. She’d just met him but she’d never felt this way for a man before. They just seemed to go together, but what if he didn’t feel the same way? It was best to test the relationship this way. That way they would be certain and not make a mistake. He had saved her after all and she was the twin of his brother’s girlfriend.

  “Let’s start with that and see where this goes.” Ritzy said. The hurt look that flashed over Plutus’ face made her hurt. Maybe she should have shared a bedroom with him, but things were already going so fast between them.

  “The ladies got some clothes and personal items for you. They put them in that bedroom.” He indicated the first one they came to. “I’ll put my stuff in the other room. They also stocked the kitchen and I’ll fix us something to eat.”

  She was amazed he could cook. Ritzy wasn’t the best cook, but she could put together a few meals. Plutus seemed to be a good match for her. Maybe this could work out for them. They had already become friends and they were family through Mitzy’s babies.

  A week passed quickly and Ritzy enjoyed the life she was building at Olympus. Her family was here and she was making friends fast. Her training was advancing as quickly as the gods that trained with her. That was probably because she’d been through most of it before.

  Things would move slower once she started to specialize in some of the advanced technology the teams used before they went in on their missions. Even though she had worked with surveillance equipment before, it was nothing like what the gods used.

  Weeks later, things progressed and the training was more than she could have hoped for and she and Plutus grew closer until she could never imagine them being apart. Tired from a hard day training she hurried home. Home-it was all that and more even though at this point she’d been at Olympus less than a month.

  “Honey, I’m home!” She yelled as she entered their apartment. The smell of food cooking hit her hard and her stomach rumbled. Plutus cooked for her most of the days she went to training. They trained four days a week, twelve hours on those days.

  “I hope you brought your appetite home with you?” Plutus asked with a big smile.

  “Always. I’ve never been fed so well. What’s cooking?”

  “Italian food since it seems to be your favorite and I can make several Italian dishes.”

  “You’re too good to be true.”

  “Oh, I’m true alright, Sweetheart. Come sit down and let me serve you.” He placed a plate in front of her and a glass of champagne.

  “What are we celebrating?”

  “You coming into my life. You have a lot of bubbles in your glass.”

  “Huh?” She asked but then she looked in her glass. “What is that?” She saw something in the bottom of her glass. She took her fork and fished it out. “Oh, God! Is this what I think it is?”

  “Yes, will you make me the happiest male on the planet and agree to be my wife?” He said from next to her where4 he had gone down on one knee.

  “Yes, yes, and yes again.” She leaned over and fell out of her chair and into his arms where she kissed him as if she were trying to gobble him up.

  Pulling back slightly from their kiss, he asked, “Should we go to the bedroom now?”

  “No way I’m going to waste this food. We’ll eat quickly and then go to the bedroom.” She decided and winked at him.

  The Cavatappi was delicious. Plutus had also made garlic bread, a garden salad, and green bean casserole. The green bean casserole was just a favorite of hers so he made it a couple times a week. “What about dessert?” Plutus asked.

  “Don’t tell me what it is, we’ll have it after we celebrate in bed, future husband.” So the cheesecake had to wait.

  Epilogue

  Two weeks later and all Plutus’s dreams were coming true. Ritzy had agreed to marry him as soon as Mitzy and Tycho were ready to wed. That would be after the birth of the babies that Mitzy was set to deliver any day now. Not everyone thought they should have a double wedding, but it was what the sisters wanted and that was all that mattered to Tycho and Plutus.

  Both couples had a lot to work out and the girls were still working out their roles in this community they were joining. Ritzy would be getting more training than she’d gotten in the military so she could accompany Plutus on missions. She would be in a support position, so any danger to her would be minimal. Once they got ready to start a family, she would have to stay behind for the safety of any babies she carried. Mitzy would be dividing her time between medical, where she would assist in the lab and childcare, for her children and any others in need.

  Plutus looked across the room at the couch where his twin sat holding his mate. He had his sweet female in his arms too. Paige was off at the play room with Fabian and the other kids and he could barely remember all the dark times when Origin ruled their lives. The bad memories were fading as good memories took their place. The only thing that would make life better was if all the gods were home and had the mates and families they wished for. They had made a start with several gods in each group from the top to the bottom having mated.

  All of them would keep helping to make that dream become a reality. Meanwhile, he would enjoy life and all it had given him. He would love his female and he knew his brother would do the same. Life was good and it was only going to get better.
