Chief Radvar (The Chieftains of the Majuri Book 1) Page 11
“This is beautiful,” Shay whispered.
“This will be our castle,” he replied.
They would have to expand it for all the people who would live here, but it was a great start. As time passed, homes would be built for the farmers and hunters. As the population grew through births and more humans relocating, they would expand further out into the world around them. His imagination would show him how to make the expansion possible. He’d have to implement a more stringent validation process for the humans seeking to relocate to Jaded. He had already seen not all humans were open, honest, or alien friendly.
Shay called out to Radvar as he hurried to her side, he saw she had discovered a small pool with glowing fish and sparkling stones. Showing caution, she didn’t touch anything and he called Talai over to scan the fish and the sparkling stones in the pool.
“They’re edible but they have sharp teeth,” Talai said. It made him glad that Shay hadn’t tried to place her hand in the pool. He twisted the head off a fish he had caught and threw it back in the pool. The water churned with activity and once it calmed, the fish was gone.
He had identified their first of many predators and by then everyone had gathered around. “Don’t stick your fingers in the water unless you’re prepared to lose them,” he warned.
“They’re like piranhas,” Shay added.
“Let’s check out the rest of this place,” Junior suggested.
“We need to break into three groups so we cover more ground,” Radvar decided. “Junior and Talai, you come with us.” He let the others divide up as they wished.
As the leader, he forged ahead leaving the others to follow. He headed straight to the wall across from their entry point. The more he saw of the cavern, the more impressed he was. When they finally reached the far wall there were several entrances to tunnels. He saw one tunnel had a vein of the element they used for power on the spaceship. The majority of the power was solar but the backup system used an element found on few of the planets they’d visited.
That tunnel would be explored later. The energy in the element could have ill effects when exposed to it too long. The next tunnel looked safe enough so they went in but they needed to be enlarged so he and his males could walk in them without bending in half or hitting their heads. They followed the tunnel a bit of a distance before it opened out into another cavern. This one was smaller and would make an excellent suite for him and Shay. There were two or three more caverns that were even smaller. That would be great for their children or a nanny.
They turned and went back when the last part of the tunnel proved to be too narrow to continue. It took a while to explore the largest part of the caverns. Late as it was, they needed to prepare to camp for the night. Each of them had backpacks with supplies and they emptied them out to set up camp. Food, water and water filtering supplies, sleeping bags, and a perimeter alarm were all taken out and set up. Supper would be eaten, a guard schedule set up, the sleeping bags ready for use, and the perimeter wires and alarms installed so they would be safe.
Each of them would sleep with a weapon under their pillow adding another level of safety. “Everyone make sure it’s an enemy before you shoot. Does anyone want to go to see to their needs before we go to sleep?” Radvar asked. Everyone did so they took turns going outside in pairs and finding an appropriate spot to seek relief.
Once they were ready to settle down for the night, Radvar felt a sense of accomplishment. It wasn’t perfect, but could have been so much worse. This planet would do and they would thrive. They would start mining right away and they had a place for all of them to stay to begin with. Only mothers and their small children would remain on the ship. Part of his crew would stay here also. Who knew how much they could accomplish while he was gone?
He and Shay took the first two hour shift waking Talai and Junior next. Once they were up, Radvar and Shay settled into a double sleeping bag. Privacy was a factor that would preclude any hot loving, but at least he could hold her close and cuddle while they slept. Shay kissed him softly.
“Good night, Sweet heart,” she whispered.
“Good night my sweet mate,” he returned.
They fell asleep to barely a whisper of a sound in the cave, but they woke to the perimeter alarm screeching. Radvar saw the dark shape headed toward them. It resembled an ape man from some of Earth’s old movies.
“Did we find the planet of the apes,” Shay whispered.
“It would seem so or something much like it,” he agreed. The color of their fur echoed the color of the grass on the plains but otherwise most features matched the stereotype. “Shoot to stun and only if necessary.”
He examined the creature closest to him and saw a wild intelligence watching him. Its eyes moved to Shay and the animal seemed to find her fascinating. He stepped toward her and made noises that could only be a simple type of communication. Radvar felt confident the translator would figure it out if the beast spoke enough. The ape held out his hand and Shay stepped forward.
“You are not holding hands with that thing!” he insisted.
“I don’t think it means us any harm,” she explained.
“And if you’re wrong?” Junior asked.
Shay seemed unsure and she stayed where she was. It would be a big step to find a way to communicate with these animals, but not by risking his mate. “Step back slowly, Shay. If he says a little bit more, maybe the translator can tell us what he’s talking about,” Radvar assured.
She stepped back to where she was before. Other creatures like the first had made their way to stand behind him. Radvar would bet he was their leader. The others watched him instead of the strangers that had invaded their planet. They were waiting for orders so they would know what to do next. He made some guttural grunts and growls.
“Me leader, who you?” the ape king said.
“We are from far away but we live here now. We want to live in this cave,” Radvar answered glad that the translator finally worked.
“Cave for god. Bad place to live,” the ape replied.
“Your god?” Radvar asked.
“No, just god,” King answered. “Want her.” The ape said as he pointed to Shay.
“My mate, carry my child,” Radvar answered.
“Too bad,” the king said. Now he looked around at the others.
“Other females?” King asked.
“Mated too,” Radvar answered. “Where are your females?”
“Some were stolen,” King replied.
“By who?” Radvar asked. He wondered if there were dangerous tribes here.
“Another tribe like us,” King said.
It was good to know about the other sentient life forms that lived around them. Eventually he thought they would follow the path of humans, but his people would be here to help them through any pitfalls that would hurt the planet. From what he had seen, he was sure he could work with the king and his people. They could tell them a lot about the planet too. Now that King had seen there were no females to be had and that Radvar and his people meant no immediate harm, they slipped away quietly.
Getting back to sleep went better than expected although the quality of sleep wasn’t as good since he kept part of his mind listening for sounds that didn’t come for the rest of the night. When they rose in the morning, everyone still felt a little tired. It might be because it was still dark outside. This planet was slightly larger than Earth and the days and nights were longer. There was some light from the three moons in the sky that reflected some moonlight to them.
They put their boots back on, the only thing any of them had bothered to take off besides their backpacks. There was nearly the other half of the cave to explore and he wanted to get to it. He also wanted to find the back exit because the ape men hadn’t come in the front. The perimeter alarm had been tripped on the backside near the tunnels. He pulled out the torches and headed toward the last tunnel. Shay followed him with Talai and Junior following her. This tunnel was wider and had multiple areas
that formed rooms along the way. In his mind he could imagine this place laid out similar to the castle he’d lived his life in and he was thrilled about it.
The structural engineers aboard the ship would especially enjoy building a castle in a mountain. They were the preferred building location of the Majuri and the engineers specialized in making them safe and beautiful. Eventually they would excavate below and above the caverns to create more building space out of it and reinforce areas to assure safety. Doors would be crafted out of stone or wood so that everything would fit in with the natural look of this world.
The Majuri were masters at building what humans called green houses so the buildings built near the castle would also blend in and be safer and easier to heat and cool because of it. Radvar was seeing the challenge and fully accepting it. He would build his mate a home and a city to be proud of and everything would be perfect.
They reached the end of the tunnel and saw there was another room to one side. Fresh air seemed to fill it and with further searching a small opening was found. He could squeeze through it and he decided it was important to know where it led.
“I want to see where this opening leads and explore the surrounding area. Talai and Junior, you can come along or return to base if you want,” Radvar said. No one was surprised they chose to come along. “I’ll go first, then Junior.”
Radvar slipped through the hole and he stood on the other side. Below was a huge valley with the moonlight hitting it perfectly allowing him to see the way it was laid out. It was like a jungle and the temperature seemed to be tropical. The tropical temperatures might be due to the mountains encircling it and insulating it. It might also be because of some volcanic activity. Shay stepped through and stood next to him while Talai stood next to Junior. This valley would be different than the plains on the other side. The sun was just starting to send fingers of color up the horizon. It wouldn’t be the pink and reds of Earth’s sunrise or even the orange and reds of Majuri.
There were hints of those colors but also lavender and purple caused by some solar or atmospheric phenomenon. “It’s gorgeous,” Shay breathed. They were all in agreement but he was more concerned that soon he would be able to see the valley.
The sky grew lighter and lighter until they could see all around them. The jungle below was coming to life with bird calls and the sounds of other animals. It looked just like a place Earth apes would live. Radvar had made a study of Earth before he’d spoken to their government so he could see what they had that would be useful to his people besides their women. He looked down at the woman standing at his side and his heart squeezed painfully. Their women were worth the cost and more. He wouldn’t trade anything for his mate and he knew Earth hadn’t wanted to give her willingly. It paid to pay attention and the president had learned that lesson to his detriment.
Grabbing Shay’s hand, he led her down the path. They wouldn’t go in very far, just enough to have some idea of what was out there. He saw the footprints of the apes and he knew this was their home. His people would do nothing to harm the apes or to interfere with their lives as long as they did the same. The Majuri had always had a live and let live outlook along with change as little as possible attitude toward planets. The belief was that blending in and taking as little as possible from a world was best.
Temperatures in the valley ran high while the plains were cool. That was something their scientists could make use of and the different animals and plants each area had would provide variety. Sweating and panting from the heat, they returned to the cavern feeling the cool air immediately. Having discovered a great deal already, they waited for the first people to arrive on the planet and be escorted up here. They ate breakfast and hydrated while they waited.
People began to arrive about the time they finished and put their things away. Donar came up to him and he greeted his master builder. It was sheer luck that had placed Donar on the ship with him. The male hadn’t been off their world in many years. With no current projects he had wanted an adventure. He’d certainly gotten one. Behind him stood one of the Earth women.
“Have you found your mate, Donar?” Radvar asked.
“I have, this is Becky and she’s an architect. That’s someone who designs buildings on Earth. We will be working together,” Donar explained.
“I’m very pleased for you and Becky,” Radvar said. A plan was coming together with matings, the populating, and building of this new home for them all. If only more of his males would find their mates it would make the blending of their cultures much easier.
Radvar and Shay guided Donar and Becky through the caves pointing out interesting points and Radvar told Donar his opinions on where things might be located.
“With the equipment on board, it will take longer than it would on Majuri,” Donar observed.
“I understand you are lacking many things you need as well as trained workers. Anything you need will be a priority and you need to list the things we can get for you on Earth. List the components in case they have no comparable equipment,” Radvar explained.
“It will be done and thank you Chief,” Donar said as he headed off with his mate and a tablet in his hand.
“Will this really look like a palace?” Shay asked.
“It will be worthy of being called your home when it is done. You will be awed and amazed by the work Donar does,” he promised.
The cavern was rapidly filling with people and supplies were being flashed and floated in to cut down on unloading time. Radvar had every intention of getting back to Earth as soon as the people were settled in safely. By evening, all the planned upon personnel was on site and most of the supplies had been unloaded. Sleeping areas were set up with mated couples getting the smaller caverns for privacy. A portable bathroom area had been set up in one corner with several shower stalls and toilets. A small kitchen area was set up too with ovens and refrigerators that ran off solar batteries. They were made to stay on board ship, but a kitchen was necessary for those staying here. Earth might be able to provide something better suited for them.
Tonight, Radvar and his team would be back on the ship. His other males would have filled in the appropriate people on the dangers and the ape men. Several of his best males were down here and they were well armed. Safety would not be a concern. The team gathered around him as they were flashed to the ship. Did it make him a bad leader that he was happy to be back in relative comfort and privacy with his mate? He didn’t care right now because he had a shower in his room waiting for the two of them.
Answering questions as quickly as possible, he pulled Shay along with him. It seemed like forever since they had enjoyed each other. He wasn’t going to wait any longer. Pulling her into the room, the door shut on the last of those wanting approval from him. They could go to his second, he wasn’t mated, yet. He stripped and was pleased to see Shay getting naked too so they could get in the shower where he set the water to a soothing temperature. Stepping inside, he pulled Shay in with him. They both moaned in delight as the hot water ran over them.
Shay wet her hair and he got some shampoo and lathered it into her hair. The scent was intoxicating. He rinsed it off and then he concentrated on the rest of her delicious body. His hands slid over it and his cock hardened with need. She whimpered and moaned letting him know she wanted him. That was good because she was going to get a lot of him for a long time. Her breasts felt so sweet as her nipples hardened and he flicked at the points. He moved over her stomach and down to her folds thoroughly soaping everywhere.
He gave her pussy special attention sliding back and forth over her clit until she screamed her bliss. Soaping in the rest of her, he rinsed her, and she began to clean him next. Wetting his hair, he leaned down so she could massage in the shampoo. Liking the way she rubbed in circles he moaned deep and low. It was both calming and exciting. Pushing him under the water, he rinsed his hair clean. She washed down his body making him groan loud with need. As she pinched his nipples, he almost shot his cum. This female d
rove him crazy in the most delightful ways.
Her hands kept working their way lower until one stroked his hard shaft as the other one cupped his big balls. It was his turned to lean against the shower wall and groan in delight as she massaged his balls and stroked his cock until it dripped with need. Faster and harder, she gripped him and stroked his shaft.
“I want you to shoot all that hot cum onto the wall and next time you shoot it, it’ll fill me up,” she whispered. The next stroke finished him and with a yell he did just as she’d requested. Not sure whether it was what she said or the husky tone she’d said it in, he decided it was a little of both.
She finished cleaning him up once his body had calmed from its orgasm. They dried off and moved to their bed where he remembered what she’d said about filling her full of his seed. Looking at his mate he felt truly blessed. It wasn’t just that she was incredible at satisfying his physical needs, she was gorgeous, funny, smart, and a warrior too. It was ironic with all the females in his empire, he’d had to travel through time and space to find his perfect one. He was just about to kiss her when his comm buzzed. It was times like these that he felt cursed.
“What?” he growled.
“Sorry to interrupt, but everything has been unloaded. You did ask to be informed,” Collin reminded with a chuckle.
“I’m on my way,” he said his voice low and rough. “I must go to the bridge. We may be leaving soon.”
“We can go together,” she replied as she began dressing quickly. There was no other female he wanted standing at his side.
They were on the bridge five minutes later. Collin pulled up all the needed information on view screens. One showed the people that would be left behind divided into groups based on skills and abilities. Scanning it carefully he saw they were leaving over a thousand people behind. It was a last minute decision to leave so many because there was so much room in the caves and they had dropped several emergency shelters for his soldiers. Many of those left behind were builders but the others would provide food, security, medical help, and other services for the builders. It looked like everything was covered.
